Review on HHIP 2003 0625 Piece Shank Holder by Mark Adams
That's enough for a newbie like me.
All holders except the boring bar are affordable. All of the tool holder sets I've seen used either a 5/8" mandrel or a round bottom shank to hold the boring bar.
