The thread knots and breaks easily

The colors are beautiful, I tried sewing some paper with it and got frustrated very quickly. It binds easily even with wax. If you don't add wax, the thread may snap if you simply pull it through the cotton. When using wax, it breaks even more easily. I thought I would only use this thread for darning and even for small seams it still knots and makes sewing miserable. I have used Aurifil thread before and have not had these types of problems. I hope this is just a bad batch but it was a miserable experience using it.
