I have been a professional watercolor painter and teacher for over 25 years. This paper, like all papers in the Strathmore line, is designed for beginners and advanced artists. If you're going to be a pro or planning a serious hobby or profession, you won't be using this paper. It's cheap, disposable, easy to get. The painting ground is not for serious artists. If you're serious, you need to switch to a French brand called Arches. Then there is no turning back. This is the gold standard for all "real" watercolor artists. Give your kids more options, use them in lessons you have no idea if you will do it again. Don't take this paper seriously. It is not supported. Nobody will take you seriously if you paint professionally on the Strathmore.
