Review on We R Memory Keepers Mint Typecast Retro Typewriter by Kendrick Breezy

This is a good looking typewriter that lacks the essential features of older typewriters and does not compete with vintage typewriters. This model is made of plastic, including many parts that are traditionally made of metal. Also, this model does not have a body or carriage locking lever, which are required. I got it for Christmas and it arrived broken. My sister also bought a model (the pink version of it) which was also defective. I wrote a review on 02/13/17 and duplicated it on my typewriter which I received for Christmas (which was defective). give away for Christmas this year. There are a few problems, the most obvious of which is that spaces are skipped. The way this one skips spaces is due to broken teeth on the carriage, causing it to skip the same space on every line. I understand that a mechanical device like this is complicated, but there are other things I don't like. This typewriter. First, compared to many older typewriters, it has many parts that are made out of plastic rather than metal, making it fairly cheap. Another problem I have is that it doesn't have a carriage locking lever. You use it when not in use. All my typewriters have this lever. Also, this typewriter has no case. The only storage option is the original box it came in. You can buy other NEW mechanical typewriters that have both of these characteristics. I would suggest an antique typewriter instead. ------- I emailed the company about a defect on mine (which will probably need to be replaced as broken bottom bracket teeth are a serious problem that isn't easy to fix). I will update my review when I get a response from American Crafts.
