This allows me to use two monitors from my laptop. I see different windows/programs on each screen. I work from home. I have an HDMI and a VGA port on my personal laptop. My work laptop only has one HDMI and the rest is USB. When I switch laptops, I want the ports on my monitors to stay the same. I just plug the VGA cable into this adapter and plug it into one of the USBs on my work laptop. I can't tell any difference to a direct connection at all. He is just as clear, consistent and sharp. The adapter can get a little warm after 8-9 hours of continuous use, but this does not cause any problems.
