We got this ladder to replace the small two step stepladder and the 6-foot folding ladder. The stepladder just didn't seem as sturdy as it once was, and I was tired of dragging out the big ladder for tall jobs. This is a great compromise between the two. It is sturdy even with a big man like me on the top step and is light enough for my wife to drag it out when she needs something out of the top cabinets and I'm not around. The tray adds to the convenience because you can place an item you just retrieved on it while you use both hands to climb down.A big bonus is that it folds to almost exactly 2 inches wide and 64 inches tall and that is small enough that we can store it in the panel right beside the fridge. That keeps it conveniently in the kitchen where it will see the most use.
