Review on ๐Ÿ”„ Omix-Ada 17104.83 Water Pump Bearing: Enhancing Durability and Efficiency by Steven Chiumento

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Cheap quality stock

. I used it to replace the fan pulley on a 1993 Jeep Cherokee. This part actually failed within 100 miles, as did a few other reviewers here, but I found this was due to the flange warping when I removed it from the old part. This gave the fan a horrible wobble that completely destroyed that part almost immediately. I can't blame this part for failing so early, but I'm deducting a star because it's definitely a low quality bearing. Should the same happen to anyone else (which I suspect reading reviews here), I ended up buying a NSK 885586 block off Amazon (mainly due to a better quality NSK bearing). The shaft on this device is too long, so I cut it to the desired length by clamping it in a drill press and pressing a cutting wheel against it. Then I bought a water pump for a 1967 Chevy Camaro with a 350 engine that has a 5/8" flange diameter. I pressed the water pump flange against the fan. Unfortunately the distance between the holes for the fan nubs is different. So I have I grounded the holes on the pulley a bit to clean it up (the pulley and fan are shaft centered so don't worry) The fan just bolts on with no modification as the holes are slotted.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Hard to remember but it was part number
