Review on ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ SilverStone Grandia Series GD09B: Premium Aluminum HTPC Computer Case for ATX / SSI-CEB - Black by Kevin Brianne

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The stock AMD cooler doesn't fit the inserted 5.25 " bay

The stock cooler for Ryzen 9 3900X is too big to fit under the 5.25" drive bay where the 3.5" bays are fixed, effectively breaking the case down into a single 3.5" bay if you want to use the stock AMD cooler. Standard Intel coolers would probably fit just fine. I took this as an opportunity to move my Blu-ray drive to an external enclosure and discard hard drive storage entirely for this build. My previous case (Lian Li PC-B10 from almost a decade ago) had additional noise-dampening foam on the panels, the absence of which is noticeable here, at least to me. I might consider adding some car sound deadening foam to the inside of this case to see if that helps reduce the noise. My main goal with this case was to create a desktop profile like an early/mid 90's Packard Bell PC and then rack mount it. The 4U rackmount cases are quite expensive, and this case takes a SilverStone RA02 rackmount ear kit, so it was an easy choice. ok, although the added texture is an odd choice. Easy enough to install and exceeds my expectations for the price - basically what I've come to expect from SilverStone.
