Always wanted a milkshake maker. He arrived today. Contrary to the comments I've read here which got me thinking, the car makes old-fashioned heavy shaking. The trick is not to follow a recipe in a manual or a few others on the internet. With the mug that comes with the machine, use 1/4 cup milk, 4-5 scoops of ice cream, and your favorite flavored sauce. Start with milk, 2-3 scoops of ice cream and gravy. Add ice cream to get desired consistency. Some comments pointed out that the machine doesn't mix the sauce from the bottom of the cup. None of the ones I've seen or used will do. The sauce is added to the cup last. If you use malt first, mix it with milk, adding a little bit at a time. I don't think you can get the same results with a regular blender. Maybe with a hand blender. It's light compared to those from the 60's and 70's. Looks strong enough. The guarantee leaves a lot to be desired. It requires one to pay the shipping cost to the company and ship it back to you. This can exceed the cost of a new machine, rendering the warranty almost worthless to the consumer.
