Review on Dorman M390257 Brake Master Cylinder by Bryce Wohlman

New Dorman MC fell out within 5000 miles

Very disappointed that Dorman quality is not what it used to be. I installed a brand new Dorman manufactured M390257 on my K2500 Suburban when I was doing a complete brake change just 5000 miles ago and the master cylinder had just failed. The system overhaul included two brand new front brake calipers, two new rear wheel cylinders, new friction materials for each wheel, brand new lines and a low pressure system flush. I had a HARD pedal and BIG BRAKES for 5,000 miles until the main seals in the master cylinder failed at an intersection. I've removed the brake lines, connected the outputs to the master cylinder and checked the brake pedal - and I have free, unrestricted pedal travel to the floor. They just don't make Dorman products like they used to. Now they are nothing more than Chinese garbage. Now I have to decide if it's worth replacing with a lifetime warranty or if I'm better off just replacing it with another product. Very disappointed. My brakes are dead like Dorman now.
