Review on 📏 Leica DISTO D1 Laser Distance Measure with Bluetooth 4.0, Black/Red - Measure up to 120ft by George Bell

The documentation for this device is seriously lacking and it doesn't sync data like most other Bluetooth devices. For example, in the informative documentation, nothing explains the nuance of pairing the D1 with a phone. In Android 12 I finally figured out that you should NOT use the Android Bluetooth settings to pair/discover it, otherwise the Leica software won't detect it. You simply let the Leica software do the pairing on its own, which doesn't work with any other Bluetooth device. While I can get the Leica software to read values into the spreadsheet application, I can't get it to add measurements to a drawing or a line in a photo in another Leica application. So I have to manually enter the length on any line in the drawing program. The rest of the D1's operation is fairly intuitive and +/- 2mm is fairly accurate at this price point. To change its settings (e.g. units, BT on/off, beeps) you need to press both buttons for a second or two. And yes, it only has two buttons.
