It seems Lexus has problems with these luggage racks because I've read a lot of reviews from people who had to change them. The old racks could not be opened in the cold. I almost passed out when I discovered this problem. These new ones were very easy to install and kept the tailgate open. I love that they open the tailgate all the way so I don't have to worry about hitting my head. Some people have complained about this and it shouldn't be very high. I have a 5ft 5in and have no problem closing the tailgate with the rear button. With these stands, the problem is solved.
