I have used v1 (it was stolen) then Beltronics RX 65 for years and both have served me well but lately my RX 65 is incorrectly working on any adaptive speed car what it's bloody annoying, to say the least, although I knew pretty quickly from the rhythm of the beeps if it was a real threat or not. b4 on my last trip i broke down and bought an r1 detector and all i can say is WOW! I only use my detector on car trips so I don't need a GPS lock and my biggest concern is the range of the detector. This detector definitely has it! Initially it still picked up adaptive cruisers (mainly Honda), but I was able to fix 98% of them by playing around with the settings in advanced mode (that's YouTube) with no discernible difference in its long-distance abilities. When I hit the open road, I basically switch into highway mode, which I understand runs at full power all the time, and then I switch into extended mode, which has specific filters when it gets a bit overactive (which he really didn't do, except under difficult conditions). traffic in cities), which city mode Spirit also works. So the advanced mode is a bit like the not-so-filtered city mode for me, but you can tweak it however you like, as I was blown away by the ease of use and the ability to adjust the settings and sensitivity of almost every aspect of this thing, and that's the only negative for me the temptation was to play with endless settings while driving lol. and as many say the range is fantastic, i estimate 20-30% more range than my rx65 which is still a damn good detector. I've driven it about 1000 miles and honestly can't say anything bad about it, except that it's a bit difficult to get in and out of the suction cup on the windshield (when driving of course) but it really is a minor thing and suction cups never are fallen off since the first time I cleaned and taped the glass. The quality of fit and finish and general "feel" of this detector is top notch and it has already saved me from at least 3 or 4 tickets on one ride so I would definitely recommend it!
