The instant ocean hydrometer is probably the best I've ever used. Good product. Accurate results.
I have never used a refractometer, some people hate hydrometers but I personally like them. Much cheaper and once you know how to use it properly you can get pretty accurate readings. If you have thinner corals or fish, be sure to spend the extra money and get a refractometer, but if you're just setting up a new aquarium, it will do. YOU WILL NOT get an accurate reading if there are bubbles on the needle. Simply tap the hydrometer lightly on a flat surface a few times and the needle will level to the correct reading.
