I feel a bit insecure about having those fake M style mirror caps on my 228i. My teenage nephew thinks they look cool. I think they're too Batmobile for me. However. Fake carbon looks average but is ok. If I find fake carbons without bat wings I will replace them. When installing, be very careful to line up the small ribs perfectly before pressing everything into place. The plastic tabs are brittle, some broke off on the first try. Although three of the four broke off, the cap still fits well and hasn't come loose in 500 miles since installation.
