Review on Versachem 65010 12PK Volatile Temperature Silicone by Patrick Diaz

I used High Temp Red to reapply the plastic or nylon zip tie mounting pads that are installed in the engine bay to the inner metal fenders to secure the Wiring I added to keep in Jeep JKU 2017. These self-adhesive double-sided sealing tapes came loose after repeated engine compartment heating and vibration cycles. I reapplied the spacers with High Temp Red. Read my results. -- Gaskets were installed under the hood in the engine bay next to the battery to secure the DC cables I added to power the ham radio in the cabin. -- After removing the old tape from the fairing and metal wing, I wiped it off with alcohol as directed in the instructions. - After adding a layer of high temperature silicone to the pad, I left it on for 10 minutes before applying, again as per the instructions. I assume this gives the silicone an initial tack to keep it in place. (see image) -- When I first attached the pads to the fender, I found that the initial stickiness was poor and, depending on its location, the pad would not stay in place unless it was was temporarily taped down with tape. Perhaps a longer initial cure time would have helped with grip. -- After curing overnight, the pads were very secure and I couldn't just pull them out with my bare hands, so I'm hoping this is a good solution. -- After many days of cold weather and driving the jeep for a long time to warm up the engine compartment, the Versachem 65309 still holds up well. Very satisfied. Conclusion: Good adhesion after curing, but poor initial adhesion may require temporary fixation.
