Review on Pfister 974 035 Single Ceramic Cartridge by Joe Stax

This is the correct replacement for my Price Pfister stainless steel kitchen faucet. This is NOT original equipment. Shame on Price Pfister for changing this without providing an adequate solution. This cartridge is as smooth as silk, and the single lever handle easily switches flow from cold to hot and fast to slow. That's a plus, but when you release the lever, the faucet closes. The original faucet lever is made of too much metal and too heavy for this frictionless cartridge. Installation is easy, but you must remove the original cartridge AND the heavy black rubber gasket from inside the valve body before installing. The seal is built into the bottom of the cartridge with a new design. When I replaced the cartridge lock nut, as suggested, I decided to buy a new metal one. The crappy original nylon got very brittle and fell off when I tried to pull it off. So this cartridge is good, just too good for the original faucet lever. Price Pfister should develop a new lever that is hollow or shorter, or stainless steel on aluminum or titanium so it's lighter and won't turn off your faucet!
