1 star ratings are unfair to the product. Is it possible to clean the atomizer without it as described by others. Yes, you can, it just takes a little more effort. The bottom of the black screw-in part is perforated to keep the atomizer from letting water in until you pull the trigger. That makes sense and I suspect that the atomizer cannot be damaged by the pressure from the hose. Could something like that be made cheaper? These are 2 clamps, a piece of tubing and a plastic cap; If you had spare parts available, you wouldn't have to buy them. And as another reviewer pointed out, you can just fill up the paint tank and turn on the sprayer, but that means you can use water in close proximity to electricity and there's some risk. I am satisfied with the price of this product. If there are no spare parts, then I recommend.
