Review on 🛀 Sinkology BOD-0903BC Seville Copper Drop-in Bath Sink: Elegant Aged Copper with Overflow by Stephen Hobbs

We installed this sink in our guest bathroom a year ago and initially loved it. But even with a cleaning/protection kit you can expect the aged brass finish to come loose. If it comes off evenly (with a patina), it wouldn't matter much, but it will come off unevenly and in streaks when exposed to acidic products like soap and toothpaste, leaving you with shiny steaks and the occasional blemish showing through the aged brass finish Result is not an "age patina" but a dirty and unclean look (in our opinion).A year later my wife was ready to replace it when one night after a few PBRs I had a brilliant idea.If the original finish was slightly too remove (even with a protective solution) and it's copper why not just peel off the aged bronze paint although I si cher that there is a better way (perhaps the manufacturer will weigh in), I literally poured toothpaste all over the sink and waited an hour. I then took about 0000 steel wool, turned on the water and wiped down the sink, effectively removing most of the trim. Keep in mind that this approach left some scratches if you look very closely, but the overall effect is way better than the look we had before. It's been a week now and the sink is holding up great. Any color changes are now at least more even. We love the sink again. Yes, it's no longer bronze, but depending on how much trim you remove you might be able to retain some of the aged look. The difference when toothpaste or soap removes the stain is not as noticeable as with the original bronze finish. In the photo, the sink after removing the paneling after a week. UPDATE: second photo 8 months later. Very little maintenance is now required. We use spray wax after cleaning.
