the device registers itself as a USB serial device - it took me a while to figure out that none of the I2C codes available on the big internet would work as the USB port doesn't emulate can master I2C outside and I2C bus inside. So if you're hoping to hook up I2C sensors and actuators (like I did), be prepared to use some programming magic. Luckily the serial communication protocol is well documented on the i2cdriver website. There is also a Github source code repository for control applications written in C and Python/Wxpython. This is related to the i2cdriver site. The Excamera website contains links to additional resources and technical support contacts. I had to contact tech support to figure out how to deal with the BMP180 pressure sensor (whose documentation is too confusing for my modest knowledge). The expert on the other end - the actual developer of this device - was extremely helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend these products as they are backed by solid technical support.
