We are now raising some chicks indoors as it is too cold outside. As they grew, I needed a "pen" with more space than a kennel. I decided to try this playpen and it turned out to be perfect. The chickens enjoy the space and it is very easy to clean. I just use a shovel to scoop out the old wood shavings and the droppings easily come off the floor of the playpen. I'm pretty sure it's waterproof because it doesn't smell like chicken urine or poop / my floors don't get hit. However, this is on my tile floor so I can't speak for those who put this thing on carpet. The top zip works fine and the sides are pretty sturdy. It's still a malleable product, but it's holding up well. Once spring arrives I plan to hose it all down and be done with it. Very happy with this purchase.
