I bought this VFD for a 2" x 72" belt sander I was building. First I bought a frequency converter and a motor. When it came time to connect the motor to the VFD and turn it on, it ran for about 90 seconds and then literally exploded (see photo). I logged into my Revain account and the refund period has expired. I contacted the company that sold the VFD and they were kind enough to send me a new VFD control board. When I removed the old control board I noticed that I assume there is a bridge rectifier on the underside of the board, with pins left over after soldering. One of those legs has shorted out one of the wires going to the coil on the top of the board. So on the new board I cut the pins to make sure it doesn't short out again. I've used it several times with no problems. Another helpful tip for those in the United States, all settings for the VFD are European standards. For example, it is set to input and output 50 Hz. So be sure to check the settings and set them to the US standard and engine you plan to use. Read the instructions for the engine type. In general, I am satisfied with the frequency converter and its operation. As long as I keep metal dust out of the VFD I can see this is going to take a while. Accessing the settings is easy when you have instructions that tell you what each setting is.
