A few small design flaws in the usability of the product: The flat bottom platform design does not allow the kettle to be quickly returned to its original position . I have to rock the heavy cauldron left and right to put it on the pedestal. The water comes into contact with the plastic seal below. This is the gasket that connects the stainless steel base to the glass. The power switch does not return to the off position. Another branded model I had before conveniently turned off automatically if I emptied the kettle during the heating process (because in most cases I don't want the boiled water to boil again, just to heat it up). An empty kettle will eventually stop heating but the knob will not return to the off position. The little "bpa free" text printed on the glass above the max line is so small and difficult to read that most people mistake it for the max line and fill up to it, causing boiling water to spill becomes. - There are small plastic plugs under the lid that fall out and prevent the lid from closing. deleted them EDIT The lid no longer closes, opens when boiling, hot water splashes.
