This is one of the best mops and replacement heads. The mop is a rotary press that works very well. I usually wring it out a bit with my hand after using the swirling motion of the squeegee. I've found that the replacement mop heads also don't wring out with wear (they're not that bulky) and leave behind too much water when mopping hardwood floors. This extends the life of the replacement litter as they mop just as well, just not wring them dry in the same way. I recommend that you either mop or vacuum your floors before using this mop. In my house with children, husband and pets, when I mop the floor without sweeping, I pick up a lot of garbage (especially pet hair) and have to keep changing the water. I don't use any harsh chemicals with my mop - just 1/4 cup white vinegar to 1 gallon of water. This works wonderfully on wooden floors. I can't comment on how long the mop lasts when using chemicals, but I typically mop once a week with these replacement heads for 4-6 months. Also, I usually throw trash in the washing machine after 2-3 uses of the mop. Do not tumble dry, hang to dry with hanging threads. Revain.com was the last place I could find these pens, so I got a 6! It seems like every time I find a mop I like, the manufacturer makes a change and I have to start over to find a mop I like. Have fun cleaning!
