Our driveway is 300 feet long and is the only way to our property. I have a large workshop at the end of the driveway and separate from the house. I wanted several things. I needed a visual way to alert "visitors" that they had been spotted entering my property, and I wanted an audible alarm to alert us that someone had entered the property. To accomplish this I needed a battery powered sensor that could easily transmit a signal 300 feet from the driveway entrance through the wall to a receiver in my workshop/home. Since I wanted this to only happen after dark, I needed a sensor that would only detect movement between sunset and sunrise. Also, since my workshop is small compared to my home, I wanted to be able to set the alarm volume to the minimum in the workshop and to the maximum volume in the house to wake us up in the middle of the night. I connected a 12V SECO-LARM SL-126Q/B blue strobe light to the workshop receiver. With the Guardline receiver, I can turn on the flash for up to 60 seconds! Imagine an intruder walking or driving into our driveway at night only to be greeted by a flashing blue light at the end of a dark driveway! Of course I also wanted a backup battery. There is no warning in the event of a power failure. With a wireless Guardline sensor, two Guardline receivers (with battery backup) and a blue 12V SECO-LARM SL-126Q/B safety strobe, I was able to do it all. I applied Magic Lube liberally to the seams of the converter and flash to prevent water damage. It works every time and we've never had a false alarm.
