Review on 🚽 Kohler Genuine Part GP84995 Flapper (Hinge) - Multicolor, 2-Inch by Sam Doucette

This damper is perfect for my toilet, cheap price and fast delivery. Although if I hadn't read the reviews here (thanks to Irina G. and T. Hill; put the pin in the slot first) the 5 minute install would have been an excruciating nightmare. Hm. A disappointing nightmare? That perfectly describes how I feel taking care of my Kohler toilet! This very specific patented "Kohler GP84995 2" valve used in various one piece toilets is not available in my local stores and none of the "universal" valves will fit. Apparently Kohler doesn't live in the same universe like the rest of us!It took me 3 trips to the hardware store to buy and return the wrong shutters and I still paid for something that didn't work.Why am I surprised?This is the same company that thought it was one good idea to have me have a juror make a pair of Mollys to secure my replacement toilet seat. Why the scam you ask? Because I don't have nearly $50 for a proprietary "Kohler 84999 Toilet Seat Mounting Kit" ( you can use to tighten the seat bolts) if this kit were to cost $5. Really. Seriously? Who designs a toilet that is literally impossible to just build one Putting a plastic nut on the other end of the plastic screws like you can do with any other toilet in the world? You can't see them anyway, so why design them so the bolt hole is inside the bowl body? Kohler, I bought your expensive toilet. Why punish me for it by making it harder to maintain?
