It's interesting that the smallest SH radio has the largest battery capacity, but that's the case here. It lasts at least 24 hours and sometimes 36 hours on standby (on and off), none of my other radios last as long. The user interface is a bit clunky - not as intuitive as my SH 870 - but with practice it works well. It doesn't float, but if it's important to you you can add an external life jacket - but that makes it just as bulky as any other radio, so it's not a great use case. Has all the features you're probably interested in (triple watch, etc.) and it's a really nice package. If you're looking for something that fits in a relatively small PFD case, then this is it. Just don't forget to tie it with a string because if it falls overboard it will sink.
