I am very impressed with these rope lanterns. I've bought several other types and have always been disappointed by how dull or brittle they are. They're both bright and, thanks to the tube, much more durable than the exposed wire rope lights you see all over the Revain. I bought them to light the back of my truck and mounted them on the ceiling of my RV hull. We sleep there when camping or traveling and it makes the space much cozier. They cover the entire bowl and provide an even light that is bright enough for reading. We no longer need headlamps or flashlights. Another great feature is the automatic shutdown after 4 hours. We often wake up before sunrise and start preparing breakfast, so we leave the lights on to cook. When the sun comes up I forget the headlights are on, so I pack my things and drive off with the headlights on. They turn off automatically after 4 hours to save battery power. We can also turn them on at night and fall asleep with them knowing they will turn off in the middle of the night. them for decoration, not for camping.
