Review on 55" TV Samsung UE55NU7100U 2018 LED, HDR, charcoal black by Janis Cerins ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice price, good quality.

In it, the WiFi module is not "ac", only "n". Found out after purchase. At first, Samsung support staff did not admit for a long time, confidently stating that the TV had an "ac" module for sure. The TV stubbornly did not see the 5GHz network. The manufacturer sinned against the provider and its router, recommended trying various settings. When we tried all possible options with the provider, it turned out that the router had nothing to do with it. On my third call to Samsung support (and two calls to the operator), the support person admitted that I had been given erroneous information. He first stated that the TV has a "feature" that the Wi-Fi module is "ac", but without 5GHz support. When I objected that this makes no sense, since "ac" just makes it possible to connect via a 5GHz channel, the support employee "left" for a long time to clarify the details. After about 5 minutes, he nevertheless admitted that the module was "n". I later found confirmation of this in the instructions. On amazon, they always indicate "Before buying, check the technical characteristics and equipment with the seller. " It turned out that even if I had called support before buying, I would have been deceived and told that the module was "ac".

Pros
  • True RGB(no W). Great picture. Very thin, looks good in the interior. Native sound is normal. If there are no excessive requirements, you can do without additional acoustics. The TV remote can control the NVIDIA Shield TV.
Cons
  • The wifi module is not "ac", 5GHz does not work. For me, this is not critical, since the NVIDIA Shield TV set-top box is connected to the TV. I lower the rating because the manufacturer carefully hides this information, and other resources, including amazon, misinform buyers. On the manufacturer's website at the time of writing, there is not a single mention of the version of the Wi-Fi module. More details in the comments.
