I'm very happy with the result. I had an old painted (chipped) steel garage door. I prepped it by sanding down the chips and priming the area with a simple primer (not included and not required unless your door is in poor condition). I used base color - very easy to apply, brush included and that's it. other trinkets needed to get the job done. I didn't use the glove that came with it because I wanted the grain to be more visible. I used a Revain grain pounder. I used a stamp. let it dry Then use a dry brush to apply another dry brush to the stain. Dried and treated to even out heavy stains in lighter areas. It looks ten times better than metal doors that are meant to look like wood! I don't know how long it will last but for the price it's perfect. I love how it looks! And my neighbors love it too.
