I need to start listening to my wife

Well folks there is an upside. Price. It s cheap. Yes, it will sharpen the pencil, but if you don't practice and practice and practice, you'll end up with a crooked point every time. Personally, I've gotten pretty good at "twisting" the pencil as I sharpen it to create a smooth point, but I have to admit it's a real headache. The chip tray is quite small, and if you sharpen a lot, you'll keep emptying it. I've had the sharpener for about three weeks now; Given its semi-soft use, it's already making some weird noises, to be honest. no, it's not swollen yet, but I'm afraid! I would NOT recommend this for school or office use, or if you are homeschooling your kids. Definitely nothing for children. You'll get frustrated with this pretty quickly and will sharpen the eraser to the end trying to get a nice even tip. And to top it off. This thing sounds like my 20 year old chainsaw that I should have smashed 10 years ago. don't be like me Spend some hard-earned extra coins and get something decent. My wife constantly scolds me (married 52 years) for my ability to make Lincoln scream when I grab a penny. I think I should start listening to her.
