Well folks there is an upside. Price. It s cheap. Yes, it will sharpen the pencil, but if you don't practice and practice and practice, you'll end up with a crooked point every time. Personally, I've gotten pretty good at "twisting" the pencil as I sharpen it to create a smooth point, but I have to admit it's a real headache. The chip tray is quite small, and if you sharpen a lot, you'll keep emptying it. I would NOT recommend this for school or office use, or if you are homeschooling your kids. Definitely nothing for children. This thing sounds like my 20 year old chainsaw that I should have smashed 10 years ago. don't be like me Spend some hard-earned extra coins and get something decent.
