Review on ๐Ÿ  XpertMatic DB-368F: High-Performance Aquarium Filter for Up to 180 Gallon Fish Tank by Susan Oliver

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I'm not sure I can recommend this filter.

I've had this filter for a little over a month now and I really miss the instructions. I have an extra piece and I don't know where to put it. Maybe it would have worked better if I had known. I started with 3 filters in cameras. The only chamber that even remotely collects debris is the top one. If it sucked up dirt from the bottom of the device, I would expect the bottom to be the dirtiest and the middle and top to be the cleanest. The charcoal is in the connecting tube and there is no visible way to open it to swap it out, so I placed ceramic rings and charcoal in two chambers. I have to change the filter often, but I have snails and they pollute the aquarium more. I wanted it to be simple but the material is plastic and I find the chambers quite fragile and the center tube difficult to keep straight when filled with heavier biological materials such as ceramic rings. The impeller was very noisy for a while, but that has diminished. There is an air hose that allows you to reduce the pressure in the tank. So this is a good feature.
