Liked the final version of the railing.

Easy to use. Cedar 2x4 fits right in. My husband decided not to fully tighten the screw at first to ensure the brackets installed the way we wanted, so he changed the screws after he finished installing. Our handrails were about 1/8 inch thinner than the 2x4 handrails (they were 6 inch handrails) so we attached them tightly to the porch side bracket without affecting the end result. He also cut it so that the top of the handrail fits into the column and the bottom of the handrail fits into the bracket. A very good deal.
