I've worn them to some rocky beaches on the Big Island of Hawaii. The shoes were very comfortable and kept my feet warm in the cooler Pacific waters. I have used them several times during my trip and have had no problems with the shoes. However, this happened after I ordered a second pair two sizes smaller than the size 8 I originally ordered. I usually wear a size 7 1/2 to 8 but when I measured my foot in inches according to the chart I needed a size 8. When the shoes arrived they were too big but I kept them for my friend who took me there Journey. My boyfriend usually wears size 10 or 11 men's shoes and size 8 fits him perfectly. They were thick enough to stay on his feet without leaving the water. I ended up ordering size 6. Remember that these shoes should fit snugly on your feet, almost like a second skin, as they expand in the water.
