I am reviewing this product having had it for over a year now. Installation was fairly easy with routing and hiding the wiring. I had to change the length of some wires. The backlight is quite bright and has a pleasant color temperature. There are multiple dimming and ripple options, but we prefer to work at full brightness. The only downside to this device is the remote control. For us, it burns batteries as it only turns on and off once a day. Another downside is that the plastic of the battery holder became incredibly brittle after a few months. It became very difficult to change the batteries. I ended up buying a GE wireless socket switch (a socket that communicates wirelessly with the steering column switch) to turn the lights on and off. It was the same price as a new remote, and my wife prefers the under-closet mounted stalk to the remote anyway. I turned the unit on one last time using the remote, then plugged it into a wireless outlet and now I can turn it on and off using the pit switch instead of the remote. Good light, bad remote control.
