Review on Spicer 5-1310-1X U-Joint πŸš— Kit: High-Performance Solution for Smooth Drives by Jermaine Krishnamoorthy

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent part for spares

Not sure if they changed the packaging based on some previous reviews but mine came with clips in the bags and instructions for those bags. I bought a grease free universal joint for life. It is preloaded with the exact amount of grease needed to balance all 4 corners. In addition, it has no drilled holes for grease fittings, so it is considered more durable than the lubricated type. By no means should you mix up the caps because you could end up moving the grease (hard to imagine that's a problem but I think it could damage the seal) and you shouldn't add grease for the same reason. Different colors of clips are indicated on the bags, but they have different thicknesses. The copper paint is a standard thickness, thicker ones are used when you need to take up extra space to prevent u-joint play, and the instructions also say to use them in pairs so the u-joint is always properly centered. Egg yolk. Pay attention to your specific application during installation. Older Fords that you think use a 1310 U-joint actually used 1310BC - two of the bearing caps are 1310 and the other two are 1330 so make sure you know exactly what size you are for the U-joint. shaped connector, and measure the size of the cap if necessary. I installed with a hammer and sockets, but this can be a problem, especially with aluminum driveshafts because you can bend the ears and cause sticking. U joint. You must use either a benchtop hydraulic press or a heavy duty U-clamp tool.
