What You Need to Use USB Devices on PS2 KVM

This is what you need if you are trying to use new USB keyboards, mice, trackballs etc with a KVM use that only supports PS/2 connections. . You may have to connect and disconnect a few times for it to work, but it works. This allows me to keep my large investment in Rose KVM and I am very happy. I'm using a Kensington Slimblade trackball with a Rose Ultramatrix KVM and it works great. The scroll wheel and all functions work, but the Kensington software doesn't work because it can't find the trackball and reports no device. I'm sure the software is just waiting for the USB and looking no further, so no remapping the buttons that way. Newer USB devices lack PS/2 logic, so you won't get by with a cheap converter. They just don't understand how to work with PS/2 signals and this converter does the translation to make them work.

  • Nice
Cons
  • Good, but not very good
