Bought this roof rack for long road/camping trips. Used it on a 15 hour trip, part of which was in torrential rain. Everything was perfectly dry. Easily fits 4 suitcases and other items. There was still enough space for other little things. This was without the expansion which would have given even more space. The straps are taut and each has an elastic Velcro closure to prevent strap sagging (no flapping in the wind). I was concerned about the vibrating noise of the strap (as mentioned in another review) but if you thread the main straps through the loops on the body of the stretcher there is no problem (at least at speeds of up to 80mph and up) . ). It is made of durable materials all around the perimeter. Durable zipper with waterproof flap. Very water repellent. We bought a small folding stand to make loading onto our RAV4 easier and it works really well. Easy to put on and take off. It's difficult to get back into the included carry case and I'm planning to find a slightly larger case to tuck away when not in use. I rarely write reviews, but for this excellent product I really felt compelled to do so!
