Great desktop mic for anyone starting out

This mic is great for anyone just starting out in podcasting, voice acting, music, gaming and everything! Its design is very simple and linear, it is an elegant black microphone that comes with an adjustable base and does not take up much space. I've used this mic before when I wanted to quickly capture a vocal idea without opening a DAW program (I just open a voice recording app in Windows), and the sound quality is surprisingly clear for what seems like a very basic mic. The sound quality is very flat and direct. So if you're using it for podcasts or music, you'll need to put in a little more work to get the vocals right into your mixes compared to a more professional mic like the MXR or Yeti mics. The only issue I had with this mic was that I couldn't get it to work without the included USB sound card. I have an HP Envy laptop with a black dual headset aux port for use with headphones with a mic. This microphone did not work with the dual headset port. When I plugged it in, the computer recognized that there was something in the hole, but the actual microphone was never recognized by Windows. I've tried several fixes (including the steps outlined in the provided guide) with no success. But the mic works fine when I use the included USB sound card (and the headphone jack on the sound card has clear playback too). Overall I'd say this mic is perfect for anyone thinking about recording of any kind and doesn't want to spend a lot of money just to play around. It can also be used for more professional work with minimal editing, e.g. B. podcasts or music. For those who want to use it for gaming, the microphone picks up your voice very well without being right in front of it. It is therefore best to position the microphone a little further away from the mouth.
