GRAFF SpeedCutter works like a champ

I bought this disc to trim a stump I felled a few years ago; I try to cut the stumps short enough so they don't get in the way of the lawnmowers, but this case was tricky; it was on a slightly sloping piece of land and one side was too high; I could mow it, but my neighbor seems to use a lower height setting and "cut" it from time to time. They can costly damage a lawn tractor, so I used this knife to trim it down to a level closer to the ground. I wasn't sure if the blade would work. ATTENTION! This pup DOES have a "learning curve". People claim that this type of blade has no recoil, but I quickly found out that it has SIGNIFICANT recoil that is very difficult to control. Luckily I had a firm grip on it when I touched the stump. This is a VERY aggressive blade that wants to dig in and move backwards with a lot of power. That's what I meant by this blade having a "learning curve". I took a flatter approach. more like buttering a toast. Let the side of the blade touch the wood first. And when you carve artistically with this blade on a high-speed grinder; I would suggest that you practice a few strokes on a less valuable piece of wood first to get an idea of the forces you are working with. And hold the instrument tight. This is a great tool that removes a lot of wood quickly, be careful, follow "tool safety" and brace yourself. Much luck.
