I'm not an electronic engineer. Really no experience with audio engineering. So I can't understand why this adapter had such a big impact on the sound quality and volume of my subwoofer. I don't have my own receiver. My TV connects to the soundbar using a Toslink digital optical cable. My soundbar has an RCA connector for connecting a subwoofer. However, the subwoofer has two cinch inputs. For many years I have used a cable with a connector at each end. I was very happy with the results. On a whim I bought this RCA Y adapter to connect both ports of a subwoofer. WOW! The improvement was dramatic. It doesn't make any sense to me. I could figure that out if I was plugged into the "stereo headphone" port on my bar. But it appears to be a simple mono RCA connection. However, the results were excellent. Perhaps the best sound is due to the quality of the Mediabridge adapter. For me it's a nice mystery. Just ordered a second adapter for a similar system in the guest room.
