I ordered one of these for a barn that was converted into an office space so I can monitor the temperature in the house after hours. It's very small, which isn't a problem if you keep it on your desk or some other place where you can see it. For remote viewing, size doesn't matter either. The first thing I would like is a backlight. It's USB powered without fail, but with a relatively short cable and no plug for it, the backlight can make it readable at a glance. The instructions are a bit confusing as one step tells you to connect your device via Bluetooth and the next step tells you not to. Luckily I was able to just add the device and it worked for me. Another problem I'm having is related to the Celsius/Fahrenheit setting. At startup it defaults to C, but you can change the format by pressing the reset button on the back of the device once. I had to re-read to find this after trying to change it in the app and finding nothing as a setting. Instead, you can tap the temperature on the app's screen to toggle between C and F, but this doesn't extend to the device itself - you'll also have to reset it to THIS. And that's not even the problem - the fact is that when I use Google Assistant to report the temperature, it reports in degrees Celsius, no matter what device or application it's configured for. I've noticed that every time I open the app again, it starts with C for a second or two and then switches to F. I think that's why Google chooses Celsius, but it's annoying to ask Google for temperature. , and then asks Google to convert that number to F in the second command. The list of built-in devices that IR can control is ridiculously short. However, I was able to use the learn function and program the buttons from my Lifesmart heater's remote control and the IR function works great to control it, at least for the basic functions I need. With backlighting and software tweaking for better C/F control, this would be an easy five.
