Does not always work with external components

The switch was OK up to now. I hooked up all the components needed to make the switch work and found that it doesn't always work. Sometimes it freezes on one of the devices and won't switch to the next device no matter how many times you press the switch. I've made sure both devices are powered on and sending a signal to the device. The only thing I've found to get it working is to press the next device button. If it doesn't toggle, I unplug the device and plug it back in. It usually restarts with the next device. This practice was my only chance to get it working and it will probably break the device at some point. Once you start the second device and everything is "warmed up", it usually toggles between 1 and 2 with one click until the computers go into "sleep" mode, then I have to do the same process to turn off the Repeat device. Of note is the loud noise it makes when you press a button to switch to another input. It seems to bother some, but I don't care. As stated in the manufacturer's description, it also struggles with wireless USB devices like a mouse/keyboard and sometimes doesn't recognize them. I plugged in the USB box and plugged all my wireless USB devices into it. It seems to work. Overall I like the concept and image quality and have decided to leave the device with the "bypass" method outlined above as it is better than having to manually reconnect everything to use a different computer. Hope the device lasts a long time.
