This would be great if I'm not at home and want to turn the lights on and off at different times of the day and night. But what I want to use it for is to run a water still for exactly 5 hours. The other timer type was not accurate. This is one but every time I want to run it I have to set the on and off time and check the day and schedule. The next day is always a different time than the previous day, if I want to run the distillery for five hours I have to set the timer again to indicate when to turn it on and then off and also set a day for that. run and whether it should be repeated every day, every other day, etc. all settings that are not essential for me. I just want to set the start to five hours and then turn it off. It was a lot of money to pay for what I needed: an easier install. I'm sure it's great for randomly turning lights on and off, just like he says. It protrudes beyond the point where light can shine on it. If you go past the number you want when setting the time, you cannot undo it, but must take the full 12 hours to get back to the number you want. This applies to hours and minutes, days of the week, etc. for each of the on and off settings. Kinda tedious. Does anyone know of a simpler timer?
