This is NOT the timer it was a year ago. It was so cheap they didn't even include a Daylight Saving Time feature. That means you have to remember to go around and change that timer when Daylight Saving Time changes. Also, this timer is military time, which is an inconvenience.

It was definitely confusing at first. I consider myself a tech savvy person and figured I could do without reading the manual. Just read this guys. That's short. And once you've done that, make sure you test it a few times to make sure it's programmed correctly. It's been working like a charm for the past few weeks. I wish it wasn't so bulky, it covers both outputs, but I only have to program one output.

I was disappointed with the mechanical timers sold around Christmas which are cumbersome to set and can only be set within 15 minutes of actual time . This digitally programmable timer beats anything I've ever used. It is easy to program to the minute and is ideal for controlling Christmas lights with grounded plugs. It has a feature to turn the lights on and off randomly during the holidays, although I didn't use that feature.

I bought this for our turtle tank and it works great! However, make sure you save the instructions if you need to set them for Daylight Saving Time as it's not very intuitive. Also, when making any change, you need to press the reset button first, otherwise it won't work. I had to learn this by trial and error as the guide doesn't mention it. Otherwise I have no complaints. We've had it for many years and it's never broken even when the power went out so that's a big plus!

8:01 shutdown. The door stays open until 8:00 p.m., then it opens again and shuts off at 8:01 p.m. It is very easy to change the closing time as the days are getting shorter. This is exactly what I needed and so far it's working well. The icons are small and my eyesight isn't very good, but I can turn them off, bring them into the light, reprogram them, and then just plug them back in. no reprogramming required.

This would be great if I'm not at home and want to turn the lights on and off at different times of the day and night. But what I want to use it for is to run a water still for exactly 5 hours. The other timer type was not accurate. This is one but every time I want to run it I have to set the on and off time and check the day and schedule. The next day is always a different time than the previous day, if I want to run the distillery for five hours I have to set the timer again to indicate when

I bought this timer on Revain from the seller: Gro1. This is the same timer sold by Harbor Freight Co. who also have a PDF user manual on their website. These are good timers, but they have a weak link: they have a zener diode (for those of you who dabble in electronics) that often fails, leaving you unable to maintain battery charge, so the display soon goes blank even when the device is off is connected to the mains. 120VAC.
