Cheap bent metal you have to hammer it to fit

This is the cheapest air intake for the 2.7 liter Ford F150 and with good reason. There are two pieces of metal that you need to assemble to create the heat shield. To do this, align the four bolts/nuts on the four corners of the heat shield. The metal parts are not precisely formed so none of the holes line up. I have a bit of finesse and could bend and thresh parts to fit together. The problem is that this causes the paint to peel off. All in all, I had to do a bit of metal work to turn what should have been a simple setup into a stressful one. I also had to paint the metal to make it look nice again. Overall, I recommend forgoing it and paying a little more for a better designed/produced recording. If it was $60 then I think the expense would be acceptable. Final verdict: passed.
