As others have said this is a VERY solid mount but the clip to attach to the radar detector is either very poorly designed or has a manufacturing issue as it is totally impossible to attach to the radar detector on arrival. . It's made of spring steel (remember it's high quality) but compressed VERY tightly. I ended up having to clamp the part in a vise and then use a screwdriver and pliers combination to pry it apart enough so as not to break the detector (or finger) trying to attach it. Electric wire is a good idea. , but (opposite the bracket) is very, very fragile. I wouldn't spend money on it again. When I tried to get one of the pins to insert and *stay* in the socket on the mirror, I broke one of the pins. I ended up finding a creative way to connect myself to the power of the mirror, so the cable wasn't a waste of time, but almost. I tried to post the same review on the company's website, but (not) surprisingly, they decided not to "endorse" it. :-P
