I bought this because of the cute design (love the stars!) but tried to limit my expectations of the texture. But this duvet is incredibly soft! I haven't had any material shedding issues at all like I have with other blankets made of a similar material. Even after several washes, the material has retained its original texture, shape and softness. It is worth noting one point. it is a thinner material. I live in Florida and hate the heat so I was looking for a thin blanket that would allow air to circulate. It was perfect for me. However, if you live in a cold climate and are looking for a blanket that will keep you warm, you may need a heavier weight blanket.
