I used this product to cut the internal threads on the crankshaft on a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan where the initial entry threads were damaged and destroyed. I used lots of oil and turned this threader 1/4 turn at a time to give it a chance to clear any debris. The situation I had was that I couldn't get the crankshaft bolt to go more than a quarter turn into the thread. After using this threader to SLOWLY thread onto the underside of the crankshaft nose, I was able to fully seat the crankshaft bolt. I bought this product because it is a tapping machine, not a tap. I wanted to revive and keep the threads that were still in my crankshaft and get rid of the few original ones that were bad. I did NOT need a tap trying to cut a whole new set of threads. That's why threading was the right choice. I still have to reinstall my harmonic balancer to be sure, but this threading seems to have worked for me and is working really well, saving me thousands of dollars on a potential crankshaft replacement. This is a quality tool and I highly recommend it! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, ARP!
