No instructions in polishing and buffing pads

About half a dozen foam pads in different colors; I assume they are color coded for something. Everyone seems to have the same stiffness etc. There is no indication of which pillow to use at which level. There is also no guide to cleaning wool pads. Warm water? cool/cold? Soap? A piece of paper with a bit of information would be handy for those of us who have never used a regular buffer.
